Not the best mod for light output. So far LS430 projector and S2000 projector seems to have the best output.

Doesn't look that spectacular when turned on, IMO.

Now, if there was a way to stick a 400W metal halide bulb behind it

ErickGS300 : just so you know, this Q45 projector is very very rare to find and freaking expensive. I saw one on ebay, it's about $700 just for the projector. Or you can just contact jefftsai, he's selling his Q45 retrofit for $1400....yupe one-thousand-four-hundred-dollar

Yes that's expensive, but don't underestimate the value of the work that goes into it; quality skilled labor isn't cheap. If you think about it, the lights he's selling have the Q45's plus projectors retrofitted into the high beams as well, you add all those parts and the extensive work along with the cost of the housings themselves and his price looks more reasonable.

it's not your average Autozone cheap crap. 1400 isn't a bad price actually.

i think the quality of his works will speak itself. and Q45 is not a cheap projector.

Q45 = $600-$800
Ballast + Bulb = $200-$250
Headlight = $200-$300

labor is about $300-400....that's more than reasonable for that quality. Ask around, that's how much retrofit labor will cost you.

Q45 pros look neat, but surely arent worth the money. The light output isnt good either. If your gonna do a retro just use some TL projectors, save ALOT of $$ and have a better light output.

Q45 = $600-$800
Why tha peep pay so much money for such a poor light output, just because it's different then the normale GS headlights??

From what I've read, the Q45's output is better than the GS stock HID reflectors and much much better than halogen. The LS430's and other projectors have better output but the Q45's are still a huge improvement over halogen. The looks are the main selling point of them though. If you're looking for pure output there are better choices.

Are people really paying $600-$800 for a pair of them? That's gotta be with ballasts and bulbs too? I've got a pair I'm probably gonna be selling and wouldn't have asked that much for them.

BTW, beware of "fake" Q45's on Ebay; the ones that say universal in the description are not real Q45 projectors and are nowhere near the quality. They're not even designed for HID bulbs.

Yes. You answered your own question. It's a way to differentiate your headlights from normal GS ones. I probably wouldn't do or buy a Q45 retrofit but it looks pretty cool. Especially Jeff Tsai's.
