I have searched and looked around but couldn't find anything and don't know anything about this. Does anyone know if a 2000 lexus gs300 platinum edition come with HID lights?

The lights are like whitish but they dont turn on you know when I turn my car on they just come on. My fog are yellow if that matters. The headlights casing says 'HB4' on the outside casing. To get HID's do I have to get all new headlight housings or whatever or can I just get the HID conversion kit from XenonDepot or wherever?

I dont know if it helps but my 00 gs400 platinum came with HIDs.

they are not HID if the housing says hb4...if theyre white the previous owner probably put sylvania silverstar ultras in it.

you can get a plug and play HID kit like i did (xenonking.com, 179.99 shipped) but with the factory halogen housing you'll get a lot of glare and not a neat cutoff like the HID reflectors or projectors.

best light output would be a projector (ls430 or q45) retrofit, but are very time consuming, difficult, and costly.

next best bet would be track down some OEM hid reflector bowls, change the stock halogen bowls out for those, and then get a plug and play kit that uses d2s bulbs.

and finally, blinding oncoming drivers all the time, just slap a plug and play HID kit in your halogen housings. this is what i did, and if you aim them correctly you can alleviate some of the glare and still keep the output much better than halogen.

i would recommend 6000k bulbs

You can call Lexus with your VIN and they'll tell you everything that your car came with from the factory.

Also, I believe that it's the Premium package that included the HID's and heated seats.

If you have yellow fogs you have HID unless the yellow fogs were added in. Also look for a yellow sticker on each headlight. That also means you have HID.

if they arent stock HID i'll still be able to see at night with the HID's and they will at least look better than they are now right?

My 00 GS3 came with heated seats but no HID's. I'm doing a hi/lo/fog HID bulb replacement next week

I have a blue dot of paint it looks like on the drivers side inner headlight (next to the main one on the left of it). I guess I'll have to call to be sure...

I own a Platinum 300 and my car didn't come equipped with HID's! I have since incorporated the HID'S in the headlights and in the fogs with yellow foglights!

If I'm not mistaken only the 400's came with HID's for the Platinum Series?
It can be done with a conversion kit , but you will need to change out your headlights to HID housings, if you want it to work! Good luck.

I just got my 00 GS400 a few weeks ago. It's badged "Limited Edition" and has gold trim/lettering. I have yellow fog lights and the headlights are HID.
