I see a lot of talk about "Platinum Edition" but not one mention of "Limited Edition" which my GS400 is badged with. Is there such a thing that anyone knows of or did some loser add some cheezy badges to this Lexus to feel important? If so, I need to get these things off. Either that or I might as well toss some Type-R stickers on and gain some HP too.

I've never heard of a Limited Edition 2000 GS400 but that doesn't mean there wasn't an additional special model sold in a particular region. Toyota, parent of Lexus, was known to do this. I remember a special edition Camry that was sold only on the west coast.

Your Limited Edition may have been created by a particular dealer. There is a Lexus dealer in Florida that has put out all sorts of invented special additions with some pretty unusual names.

My "favorites" are the LS400s and LS430s with vinyl tops that the same Florida Lexus dealer sold.

I hope yours doesn't have a vinyl top! LOL

My GS is a "Millenium Edition Limited Edition".
It Lexus in collaboration with Amex....
It's on the door sills and leather package etc...just few things were changed..

The "SportDesign Edition" GS was an official Lexus model variation and was sold for the first time in 2002: http://www.lexus.com/contact/pdf/2002/2002GSspecs.pdf

The "Platinum Series" was only in 2000 and only for the GS, ES and LS.

"L-tuned" is not a special edition -- it's a set of dealer installed modifications.

There were also official special editions, at least for the LS, in 1997 ("Coach Edition") and 1994 ("5th Anniversary Edition").

The Canadian market Millenium has almost exactly the same in content as the U.S. market Platinum Series sold in 2000. A London, ON owner of a Millenium 2000 LS400 recently posted photos of his car on another forum and it appeared to the same as my U.S. Platinum Series 2000 LS400.
