On a 1999 GS300 which wire is the antenna power wire?- On the OEM harness?
And which wire is for illumination control?
Help???????????
if you have a after market harness,
just match up the colors ! put the radio in and thats it
considering he asked about an oem harness i don't really see where you're coming from.
about the only thing i can think of is go back to where your power antenna is and see if you can match up the color of the wires coming out of it to a wire on the back of your head unit. I'd imagine the motor itself has a power, ground, and remote lead so that the antenna only goes up when the radio is on.
as for illumination, i think that would be built in to the power/ground to the switched 12v, with maybe a remote lead to the headlight switch/gauge cluster so it knows when to dim or whatever.
I ended up pulling the Toyota wiring harness apart, rearranging the pins after looking up the wire color codes on the12volt.com that djspawn00 found and then bypassing the amp by extending that harness a couple of feet.
I wouldn't use the illumination control because from what I have heard from many installers, it causes problems.
The antenna is the window imprinted one but I was wondering if its "power amplified" like the S2000 antennas/BMW window antennas?..
Currently my factory amp is bypassed and I DIY made a harness and extended it by 2.5 feet....
no ILL wire needed for my 05 GS300. My factory radio uses 20pin connector, I reposted diagram got from this forum, but not sure how to wire the powered antenna, any body knows?
I already installed my Android yet need better radio reception. 2001 GS300 radio-amp wiring diagram
Above has powered antenna wires(ANT/ANTA/ANTB), my car has only grid antenna on back wnwhield, I'm not sure whether the grid antenna has two parts or they have ant amp. But Android radio has click noise as I juts use Motorola size ant might due to I only use 1/2 ant.
Dual antenna is a common problem in after market radio installation, I don't know why little people deals with it.
