Thanks for all the input everyone.

Good news is I got the trunk open. I changed out the battery on the master key and it popped right open.

Bad news is that the master key still won't go all the way in the trunk key hole and the trunk unlock on the dash. I'm assuming it's in the lock position since the release doesn't work still. Don't know how this would be locked cuz I've never used it before and the trunk realease worked if I recalled correctly.

Any advice on the new situation? Could it be from using valet keys? I don't use my master key that much anymore since the case cracked and it feels like it's going to break whenever I turn it in the ingnition.

I think your locks are fine. The valet key is not made to work for the trunk keyhole, trunk release lock (inside car), and glovebox.

EDIT: Use your master key to unlock the trunk release cable lock.

haha, yeah you found your problem. The whole point of valet keys are to keep valets out of your trunk and glovebox.

hahaha let me clarify. I only use the valet key to unlock and start my car.

Since the trunk problem when it got delivered I tried the MASTER KEY in the trunk key hole and the trunk release lock and that is the key that will only go in a quarter of the way in each of them.

I know the valet keys don't work in those locks. I'm dumb sometimes just not that dumb. LOL didn't know if you started the car with a valet key it would send some crazy signal to the car an not make the trunk work. crazy technology these days

im surprised the switch inside the car does not work. did you get that figured out. the trunk popper is electronic regardless if someone had messed with the keyhole in the back the switch inside should still work.

just pull the lock out of the trunk and put some key graphite in th lock.
it is only held on by 2 bolts and a latch.

it might be the lock that's bad,
worst case scenario, buy a new lock from lexus and get a different set of keys.

me and ay-nako were messing around w/ his trunk locks.
maybe he can chime in.
