If you can afford an RS6 or Brabus E55 and like it, buy it!

I don't get this 'worry' about threats to the GS. Buy what you like!

Those types of cars will sell in miniscule numbers, which is certainly nice for those who want an exclusive type of a ride. Enjoy those maintenance bills though.

Lexus is about VOLUME sales. Mercedes, BMW, and Audi are going nuts on the high end because they're scared *****less of losing to Lexus.

We all noted how the GS430 isn't selling much right now and some concluded the end is at hand... is Lexus bothered? No, because they sell loads of GS300's which is their real goal. And besides, they can use the 4.3 V8's (and iron block variants) in SC, LS, LX, GX, Land Cruiser, Sequoia, and Tundra trucks.

And BMW would like to have Lexus' "problem" selling the new ES300 despite many here saying it's butt ugly.

Get a grip people...

I don't think Lexus is in trouble yet, but they should know this ....

Producing the best don't win you the sale, it win you the name. This doesn't just apply to car, but many other business as well.

What 'sudo-luxary' [sic] models are you referring to? G35?

As far as high HP sport-luxury, sure MB AMG and BMW M models are terrific and help those brands, but it's not like it's a new situation that Lexus can't compete with those models, they NEVER have. Has it hurt them? No.

As far as an Audi RS6, we don't even know if it will be sold here, do we? But looking at their existing 'sport' models, have you driven an Audi A6 4.2 or 2.7T? I'll take a GS400/430 every time.

The current 540i is NOT a better car than the GS400/430 in my opinion (yes, I've driven them). CD changer in the trunk? Hello? FOUL nav system, hello? Electrical problems galore, hello?

Sure there's a new 5 series on the way, but there's a new GS on the way too... so just chill until we see both. So Lexus might have a slower year if the new E class and 5 series are great, so what?
