Default Check Engine Light after Oil and Air Filter Change???

I changed my oil and air filter yesterday and drove about 15 miles and my check engine light comes on, the car is still running great , thats why it really threw me off when it came on, so I took it to Autozone and they put it on the diagnostic machine and it said it was something with the catalytic converter. Im thinking that its something as simple as O2 sensors but I was also wondering would the air filter I put in maybe have caused it to come on, because the air filter I took out of the car was one of the most dirty and clogged I had ever seen, so could the check engine light just possibly be the computer adjusting to the new air filter?

Probably coincidental that the malfunction light came on for this issue right after you changed the air filter.

Check engine light went off, turns out it was some bad fuel additive (fuel injector cleaner) I put in.
