probably has something to do with the 3000 marking on the valve cover (for 3000cc)

Source the motor from a company in Canada who specializes in Japanese imports....Ran a compression test on the motor and it is running strong

No EMS yet but I plan on going AEM EMS, when I go single turbo.

explains VVT-I:

http://www.newcelica.org/other/faq/vvtl-i/vvtl-i.htm

From what I've been told the VVT-I adds about 5HP. Not to mention the 2JZ-GTE VVT-I motor has more torque than the USDM 2JZ-GTE and JDM 2JZ-GTE.

335@3600 to be exact. And the real rated HP on these motors were around ~350HP. But lowered due to a law in Japan.

Finally got it running, will post a video soon. We ran into a problem that we couldn't figure out. Turns out to be loose intercooler piping...Duurrrr.

Pros: Easier wiring and over all better engine than just a 2JZ-GTE JDM. (USDM 2JZ-GTE is hard to get a hold of and incredibly high in demand) And it seems like I'm getting pretty good MPG even though I'm running rich as hell. I freaking love it!

Cons: Expensive to mod and the swap was expensive.

It's not that bad. I think open headers on a 4cyl is worse. No videos yet haven't had time. I will make one soon. Just a some simple fly bys.

Well...I believe the V8 has more torque...I don't know about faster. Stock for stock it be pretty close. But with just a simple boost controller and up the boost a little bit. The V8 430 would get walked...

Off a dig race I think the 430 might have a jump to 60mph. But 1/4 mile I couldn't tell you....

GS430 with a turbo kit would be a monster though.

i'm not sure about the time to 60mph, but the 430 would definitely have you in the first 60 feet. I would think that with the boost kicking in the GTE'd 300 would definitely get 60 faster. After all, the v8 2GS is only a second or so faster than the i6, which only puts down around 190hp to the wheels.

as for a roll, say 40 or so, the initial torque again goes to the v8 but the GTE would definitely pick up that ground really fast once the boost kicks in.

throw bolt-ons on the v8, then you'd have a decent race vs. stock GTE.

and a turbo on the v8 would be sick, but an S/C would build the boost a little quicker
