will these rims fit my 2gs?

i'd go 255/35/18 in the rear and 225 or 235/40/18 in the front.
your front aspect ratio on staggered rims should always be 5 higher than the rear.
other than that, with those offsets you should be fine

yup,
I agree with Jcat.
Those tire sizes are pretty close to stock size for our 2GS's.
Which is around 25 inches tall.
I find this link helpful for tire dimensions;

well, i plan to change them, but the tires are pretty new...would it be a hazard to run them? at least for a few months? then save up and get new tires later?

I recently added spacers to my 3GS setup and currently, i am running this setup:
Front is 18x8 +30MM w/ (45MM wheel minus 15MM spacer) 245/40/18 tire
Rear is 18x8 +25MM w/ (45MM wheel minus 20MM spacer) 245/40/18 tire
I am also lowered on Tein Stech springs. No rubbing issues.

For comparison's sake, the front fitment with a 15mm spacer:
18x8.0 +30 sits on fender the same as
18x8.5 +36
18x9.0 +42
Rear fitment with 20mm spacer:
18x8.0 +25 sits same on fender as
18x8.5 +31
18x9.0 +36
18x9.5 +42
18x10 +48
Really conservative still, especially on the rear.
The only variable will be the tire choice, an how that particular
245/40-18 fits on an 18x8. It will be a little wider than the wheel,
the sidewalls would be more flush on an 18x8.5 rim lip.
