Alarm/Door Issues
Hi All,
I am having an issue with my Driver side door. When I try to lock my front door with my alarm the front door does not lock and the headlights does not go out. I first thought it was my battery in the alarm but all my other doors are locking. I am able to lock the door by using the key.
Has any one had this problem?
Would I have to replace the actuator for my door?
I just want to make sure before I start buying parts I might not need.
Any help or suggestions would be helpful.
Thanks
Dave

When your refering to the "alarm" I assume that your refering to your key/fob? I would bet that it is your door lock actuator, and unfortunatley on those sometimes the actuator is only available with the lock assembly.
Does the door lock when you push the lock button on the door? If it doesnt then I would pull the door panel and "pin" the wiring connector out just to confirm

Sounds like it's probably the actuator, check if it locks via the button on the door, if not I would assume it's the actuator.
Do a search for DIY actuator and you'll find a very helpful thread. If you can replace the motor in the actuator yourself as described in the thread it's a very cheap fix, if not they'll tax you about $200-$280 just for the part, around $450 if dealer installs.

The door does not lock when I push the lock button on the door.
What does "pin" the wiring connector mean?
Thanks for your help
