Has anyone Upgraded the Factory HID's to a brighter bulb?

If so, what needs to be purchased? Just the bulbs? What bulb did you use? Any links to replacement bulbs on the 'net?

I dont' know if anyone has them on a GS now, but I had upgraded HID bulbs before. I had the Philips Ultinon 6000k D2R bulbs installed before and they are very bright. Alot WHITER and BLUER with a hint of PURPLE, very nice. If you have factory HIDs, all you need to get is the bulbs.

Dexter,

I was wondering the same. I just wanted a link to some of those new Philips bulbs that are compatiable and NOT sold in a full NON-HID Upgrade kit.

Let me know if you find any.

Thanks.

I am using the Phillip 6K on my GS. A while back, there was a group buy for the bulb only for $275.

I might bite at $300 a pair... but I think they are $300 each.

What's really bothering me is my dealer replaced one of my old HID's and now one is slightly bluer... just more of an annoyance I guess. But, if I could upgrade them for a few hundred to the Philip's I'd do it.

Cool! Thanks Dex. Now I just need to convince the wife the car is "unsafe" with unmatched bulbs! LOL

Hello, 6000k Philips!

BTW, I was reading that non-warranty replacements of the 4100k OEM HID's run upwards of $300 for a single bulb at the dealer.

Any tips on a good match (or cool colored) wedge and high beam replacement with the 6000k Philips?

Default WTF?!!

WTF! The guy just changed the price when you go to check out!

It DID come up with $299 an hour ago at checkout now it's $398.

We should organize and tell him we'll buy only if he honors the $299/pair price.

Or you can just hack the little script and get it back to $299 yourself and befuddle the shmuck.

https://www.paypal.com/cart/add=2&bu...&amount=149.50

or for real cheap (hehe, don't REALLY submit this):

https://www.paypal.com/cart/add=2&bu...X&amount=14.50

Yeah, check with SUVLights.com. They are the vendor that we use for the last group buy. A little bit on the slow side of delivery....

Man, that's pretty shady.

I might call 'em and see if they will honor the price in the email - if not, that's really poor. It's not like someone coded the page incorrectly, the guy took the time to type up an email with the price.

The suv place might be the ticket either way.
