Funny thing when I used to drive my s2000 with no front plate I would never get pulled over. But as soon as I took it of my GS300 I got stopped immediately. Damn VA police/statetroopers.

Yeah, I used to get pulled over for the tag and then they would nail me for my tint as well. Since I started leaving the tag in place, I have not been pulled over for tint or tag in any of the cars I've had since 04ish. I figure keep the tag and keep the tint.

I had my license plate holes shaved, so I am either going to make a bracket that is epoxied to the inside of the bumper that comes through the mouth. Or epoxy a magnet on the backside and put a magnet on my license plate. (A strong magnet...)

Why not just mounted where is supposed to be mounted, in the middle of the front bumper ? Do you have an aftermarket bumper?

I really don't see what the big deal is about a front plate. Yes it looks like total crap but just take it off when you arrive at a show or whatever. Does it really bother people when your driving the car to know that you have a license plate on your front bumper? Like others have said, it's the easiest BS reason for a cop to pull you over and then get you for something else like tint, exhaust, being to low, etc.

I'd also advise against the dash board mounting. About time you get into an accident and that thing starts flying around the cabin....watch out !! I know that in VA they can pull you over for an improperly mounted license plate. I've known some ricers that get pulled because they have it mounted on their passenger side sun visor and just put the visor down while driving, but they got a ticket for that too.

Get a motorized (or manual) license plate retractor. Then you can tuck it away under the car for photoshoots etc. They are hard to find though $$
