99 GS300 Throttle Sticking on hard throttle
1999 GS300 with 157,000 miles.
Well I tried searching the site but didn't find anything. I do remember someone started a thread, but it was related to the carpet mat wedged under the pedal. This happened to me several times before, but until today I really noticed the problem. I was driving on interstate and decided to punch the throttle to switch lane. After pressing the pedal to approx 3/4 of the way, it wouldn't release and I had to brake hard to stop the car. Not sure if anyone has experienced this before, it was scary. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated. The car has all the stock components on the engine.

Sounds like carbon build up in your throttle body, causing the butterfly to stick. You can go to your local autozone and get a carb cleaner, and that should fix your problem.
