Hi folks,
Popped the hood tonight to check fluids and now the hood will not latch. The safety latch "catches" but not the main latch. Any help greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Thanks for the tips. I sprayed the latch with some Ballistol (like WD40) and worked the primary latch several times. Likewise, I worked the inside release lever and it now moves much more freely...and the hood latches.
Thank goodness for daylight savings time and being able to do this in the dark...;-)
Thanks again for your tips and thanks to the other threads on this topic as well.

this is also unfortunately a common prob on the gs series. mine did this the weekend i bought it. couldnt get it shut after checking oil NO matter how hard i banged on it or slammed hood or gently shut hood and pushed on it. so i ignored it for awhile then went and got lunch and a oil change and it shut fine! got back to memphis an started doing it again....then quit for a month (i tried not to open my hood lol) but eventually it came back. wd-40 worked for a bit but u might wanna get ready to replace the hood cable. got mine from sewell lexus and have NEVER had a problem with hood since. i think cable waslike 35 or 45 bucks....not to shabby
