Default 93-97 GS300 with HID

anyone with HID on there first generation GS. i ordered my HID and they are coming in tomorow i'm so excited. also anyone notice black spots right in front of the car with the fog lights off. my headlights seems to have black spots on the ground. looks like a big M shape light output. anyone to customize my headlight to get rid of this. i looked inside the headlight housing and notice a metal piece in there tried breaking if off but its a hard piece of metal. also tryed opening up the headlights but its so hard to unclue. i used a heatgun. also i know some of you guys are thinking its the metal piece that gives off the cutoff lines but its not ifs some glare guard.

There ya go again.... asking stuff about those very uncool 1st gen GS300'S........

Don't get me wrong bro, I love mine and it's in pristine condition to boot, but outside of a small band of us 1st gen owners ,, no one here cares about the 1st gen GS300's. No one, not a soul.

I personally believe that when Lexus changed the body style (and lowered the price $9000.00) in '98, The look of our cars became uncool for some reason.

I remember about a year ago I emailed mkilty, the head honcho here about the possibility of starting a sub-catagory within the main GS300 forum for the 1st Gen GS300's........

He never even replied..................

That ought to tell ya something, it did me.

Keep the faith bro, I'll look for your posts.

Just start posting stuff about first generation GS. if people like you don't post there will never be anything about the first generation GS. keep faith. trust me you will see more topics on the GS from me. always start our topic off with "93-97 Gs300......" if you want more people to notice us. also i know our GS are still instyle because the last body was in 97. i see bunch of old 90,91,92.ext civics being fixed up why not a GS. maybe cuz its soo expensive. i just turned 18 but i have been modding my GS like crazy. trust me i am going to bring it back to this board

I love the way the old GS's look, maybe not as much as the Newer ones, lol but I think they look nice especially when they're hooked up, I haven't seen one in a while though but to me, it reminds me of the older Sc400's and 300's, and I think those are beautiful

1st Gen GS300's Rule........I waited for the new GS body style to come out before i made my decision on which one to buy. I love the 1st Gen......so i bought one. 2nd Gen's are nice also but we all go with what makes us happy. That's why we have seven different Lexus vehicles to chose from.......to each his own!! 1st Gen or 2nd Gen or whatever, a Lexus is a Lexus, and that's all that counts.

just my opinion

Right on, Jmai22, You info duly noted. H'ver just to set the record straight, Let me fill you in...

Almost a year ago to the day, I found this site and registered, although it was a different user name I posted about 9-10 msgs......... I got zero replies, zippo, nothing.

One of my final msgs was titled something like, " Any '93-'97 GS300 owners out there?..." I got 3, maybe 4 replies. That was it.

All I could make out of the situation was a sense of total apathy towards the 1st gen GS300'S within the CLUBLEXUS GS300/GS400/GS430 forum. So that's when I sent a personal email to the web admin. mkilty asking for the possibility of a 1st gen GS300 forum. I figured what 1st gen GS300 owners there were here on the board were practically limited to "lurker" status, for fear of being mocked at by all the 2nd gen owners(read that: ignored)

Anyway......

I wonder if people realize that when new, the 1st gen '93 GS300's had a base price of $41,000+ and in the final year, the '97 base price was an incredible $45,000+. That made it a really expensive sport sedan to buy. Hence, today there are not that many around due to the fact that not a whole lot were sold, relative to the quantity of 98 & later GS300's. As I mentioned in a different post, when the '98 models were introduced Lexus had reduced the base price $9000.00 from the '97 base. This year, 2002, is the 5th model year for the 2nd gen GS series. That is the same length of time that the 1st gen model was built. I wonder how many more 2nd gen GS300's have been bulit than 1st gen?

I think the issue of "rareity" is starting to come into play with the 1st gen GS300's and people do not realize it....yet.

Anyway, If you are a 1st gen GS300 owner reading this please post a quikie and say "hi" !
