Unhappy Fog light problem! Please help!

I have clear fogs on my gs3 but love the yellow foggie look. I put yellow bulbs in and after having them for about 6 months one went out. At first I thought that it just burnt out but after taking the fog light out I discovered that it short circeted and melted the plastic conector! I don't know why this happend. It didn't even blow the fuse! The wires still seem to be fine but they might be bad too. Does anyone know if the harness can be replaced or at least the connector? Please chime in if you know how I can fix this problem.
Thanks in advance.

I don't remember the brand. I bought them from a performance shop. I'll have to dig up the box. I don't think its more than 75watts but I'm not exactly sure.

I just recently had a bad foglight connector too. I bought a generic connector for 9006 bulbs from Pep Boys, clipped the wires (the black and the white), and connected that generic connector right up to my Lexus wires, and then sealed it up with some electrical tape...haven't had a problem. I think I paid $12 for the connector. I was done in 15 minutes, and did it right there in the back of the Pepco parking lot.

Probably put in bulbs that were over 75 watts. You might just want to purchase 3000k HIDs from Mobilehid.com, They're one of our vendors.

Yeah, it's just a generic 9006 connector, so most auto parts stores will carry it.

I have an '01, with aftermarket 55W Piaa bulbs in the fogs for the last 4 years. I didn't have a problem until recently. So I just chalked it up to the age of the car and running a little higher wattage foglight in the socket. If it happens every 4 years, I decided I wouldn't sweat it. And it only happened to the driver's side foglight, the other side is fine, no problems.
