Exclamation My Car Isn't Starting - Not The battery - could be the key

ok when i try and start it its like DU DU DU *starts* for like 1 millasecond its started.. then BOOM dead and *still holding key on start* the starter keeps going...... as long as i want and the engine never tries to start again. unless i wait 5 min with the key out and try again. the engine starts for a split second then dies.

im pretty sure (with richy's help) that its the imobilizer not letting the engine start... i thinks im hotwireing the car because my key's chip is dead i THINK. just wanna know if it could be anything else.

i have no spare key to test until tuesday. thanks

Sasha, if you keep starting you keep hearing the starter motor turning.
It sounds like there is not getting any fuell in the cilinder.
So there is an obstruction there.

I had a problem almost like that with my Grand prix, If you want to try this, Buy some starter fluid, and spray it inside ur intake, then try to start the car, and if it starts and stays on for a couple seconds, then turns off..... then it could be ur Gas pump thats located in the gas tank, not the injector.... atleast that's what was wrong with my car when it would do that, if you ever find out what it is let us know, just for future reference

Does the remote lock/unlock work with red led lighting up on the key? There is only one battery in the key.

Do you have any other "active" [some thing that sends electronic signals] in the key ring confusing the receiver?
