Default new trans, still not fixed

i have a problem with my car when it's in reverse. there is a surging, and it's only in reverse. i've taken it to lexus and after 4 months(warranty b.s.), i still have the problem. this includes a trans flush(which i had to pay for), multiple diagnostic checks, line pressure checks, and a new trans(thanks to my service manager who pushed for me). i guess they've done everything they could to try and correct the problem. does anyone else's car have this problem????? or does anyone even know what's wrong with my car????? my car's a 05 gs300.

This is a frist time for me to read something like this only when it's in reverse..... Thankfully not when it's in drive I wonder what is causing this problem well at least you got a new trans out of the deal ????? or did you ?????

I believe the ECU would be the final and only option since that is what controls the tranny.

it wouldn't hurt to contact a tranny co. You could try Pearl City trans and see what they think might be the problem. I would most likely call Ty at IPT (Import performance transmissions) in New Jersey. They also have a forum on their site and you could post there or just call IPT. They have always been very helpful. Good luck

supposing it is the ECU, shouldn't lexus have gotten some kind of error code when they did their diagnostic tests? i'm pretty much ruling out the trans as the problem because two trannys on the same car doing the same thing? not likely. should i go back to lexus and demand a fix, or a new car? lol...i'm no mechanic, but imo there's nothing on a modern car that can't be fixed.
