Talking APEX exhaust finally installed on my gs400

I just installed the Apex-i exhaust that I had picked up 2 days ago. All I have to say is.....LOVE IT!!!! Not only does it look sharp (shiny tips and mufflers), but it also has a GREAT sound to it. Anything below 1,500 RPM it sounds very similar to stock, but once it goes over 1,500 RPM it begins to have a deep, not annoying, rumbling sound and begins to get deeper as you get on the gas. Also, as for performance, did not feel any type of loss of torque at low end, but totally noticed a HP gain on from the mid range to high end of the RPM band. I've attached a picture below:

Where did you hear that Sasha?

The Apex-i is a full catback isn't it?

I was talking to Racing Aristo about it a few days ago and I doubt it woud be quieter than L-tuned and Borla...

I also think it fills in the gaps/holes nicely. The exhaust goes back to the middle of the car where there is a resinator that links the two exhaust pipes coming off the CATS, so it's not quite a cat-back exhaust. However, we, at the shop, were thinking of maybe fabricating a custom Y pipe coming right off the CATS and goin to where the APEX exhaust begins....anyone got any ideas on the HP and Torque gains and losses if that was done??? Also, how about the noise level without a resinator and with 1 or 2??? We just might go for it and dyno it. I'm sure if it all worked out, we could sell that peice for around 300-400....who knows. Keep your fingers crossed.

Racing Aristo,

You either must work for Apex-i or got some Japanese hook-ups, cuz 560 installed is an awesome deal considering the exhaust retails for 799. Maybe you can sell me a Apex-i Super AFC then for a steal??? =o)

martin, great exhaust is that the apex world sport model? if so, i think ra was referring to anothe local shop that sells the WS model at 30%off list($799), which would be $560+install...
