Default Can I just put HID Kit in my Gs without Modification?

HI guys i jsut ordered 2 pairs 9006 complte kit from XenonDepot for my 98 Gs 300.... its obviously non HID from factory and uses Hologen Bulbs....Can i install the kit without any modifications or do i need to buy new HID Housing ...MY lights are in near perfect condition! Someone just told me i had to replace both housing for headlights in order to install after market HID...Is it True ?

nope buddy no modifications. everything should be plug and play.

Your HID kit will "work" in your non-HID housings.

For them to work well and properly light the road without creating some glare the general consensus is that you will need a HID housing or HID projector conversion.

Thank you guys..you are the best....I just came to these forums like a week or so ago and appriciate all the help from you ....Thanks god i dont "Have to" Change the housing ..i already spent so much money on the car getting audio setup lighting etc that i need to calm down lol....I just sold my Acura TL and upgraded to Lexus so i need to make this one also "One Of Kind" as I did to my TL! All help is really appriciated! CL is the best

$120 each ..they are Xenon Depot Volt kits 6000K .... i hope they are good ...anyone have experiance with them!

great when you get them in take pics and let us know what you think of them, and the 6000k is the white light right, not very blue like the 8000k?

apexi is 400. im still dealing locally tho. when i bought it it came in 2 huge boxes.

you might have to use a relay since the gs's have drl( day time running lights)

I have HID's in NON-HID housing and its perfectly fine. I get no complaints about glare or anything

DRL's are hooked up to the High Beams. As long as you are only HID'ing your Low Beams you will be fine.

A good HID Kit should have a relay equipped harness anyways.

+1, as long as theyre aimed correctly you shouldn't have a problem. Though there are always those old timers who just get pissed off and flash you for no reason.

Yes...it can be done....the only issue is the glare to on-coming drivers. So yes, you may get high-beamed for that.

Are you planning to put the other kit in your fogs? If so, beware. The heat in the fogs do not have room to dissipate quick enough....so it may possibly "blow up" in there.

I put HID in my old Scion TC with non-HID housing and it works well too!
