Default Car is sputtering 99GS 400

Yea my car is sputtering at idle don't llknow what it is. Could it be the spark plugs. No CEL either car has 90k

i have a little vibration in idle i think its the engine mounts i dont know if ur prob same mine

Bump... I Changed my Spark plugs about a month and a half ago... Because it was sputtering it was misfire in Cylinder 4.... I have No CEL at the moment ..But it sputters at Idle.. What could it be.. Ummm How long do Coil Packs usually last...

If it was a weak spark the miss would be worse with more load, like WOT. I would suspect a injector before spark if it was noticeable at idle/cruise. If it was only at or worse at WOT, then spark related.

Check the freeze frame data. Itwill tell you the conditions the cel was thrown under, cruise, mph, rpm, ect.

You need an OBDII scanner. I have a mid level one, I think it was around $60. It tells live data for most sensors and the freeze frame data when the cel occurred. I'm no sure if the freebie obd service at autozone/checker will tell you this.

Check simple stuff first. Vacuum leaks - vacuum lines off, broken, split. Take carb cleaner, spary around lines, intake, throttle body to see if there is any change. Clean throttle body. Check air filter and intake hose for restrictions.

Check your Cat converters. Had the same problem when I purchased my GS back in 07. Had a leak in one of the pipes.

Check your timing belt, serpentine belt, spark plugs, and your engine oil.

Your belt seems to slow down a bit after a couple of seconds. It goes like VVVVVVV rrrrr VVVVVVVVVVVVVVV rrrrrrrrrr VVVVVVVVV.

Very weird. Your main belt on those pullies looks a bit loose too.

Check in the maint. forums for quicker and more accurate response.


Listen from 0:06 - 0:10, you can hear something misfire.

Could you please post a video of you starting the car please? It might help me to figure out the exact problem.

Bump i got a CEL misfire Cylinder 4?could it be coilpack or injector... and i dont think i used iridium plugs........
