Default Alternating out brands of engine OIl?

I put mobil 1 synth in my 98 gs400. Its time for a oil change and parts store has penzoil platinum on sale. Will it hurt to alternate out brands. I cant see why, just not go back to conventional.

There's no problem with doing that. I used to do that all the time when I was in Mexico and would try out oils. Only thing I'd recommend you do is keep the same weight, i.e. 5W30. and keep using a synthetic.

i've been wanting to do an oil change also. Would switching to synthetic now after 105,000km/63,000miles of Lexus engine oil be ok? Because i've read threads saying that this will open up leaks that were blocked by the deposits of the minerial Lexus oils.
