underneath lip and bumper kit protection? got an idea what you think?
welll someone came up with the idea of fabing their own skid plate or rail sort lookiing things but that really only protects you when you go straight or fwd. then someone else came up with the idea of using the door molding..
over the last few days i was kind of wondering how else can you fullly protect the front lip or bumper underneath. well depending on how flat your lip/bumper is i was thinking of taking a big piece of aluminum laying it flat out and trace out a cut out with my tte lip. its pretty flat on the bottom of that lip. so i would sit the lip/bumper down on the aluminum and trace out what you need around the bumper/lip cut and then test fit and cut/trim more accordingly to what you have.
then i can mount it with screws and washers all the way around underneath since i have holes for my lip! sorta like a skid plate from a truck but not reallyyy!
i havnt really worked out all the details yet but what you guys think? if you got any other way to modify this idea post up!!
keep in mind when i say totally protect i mean from scrapingon driveways and maybe speedbumps! of course i know it will not protect you from bigger things!!!

I think a piece of steel may work better. You should also counter sink the screws so they do not catch on a curb or something and rip your lip or bumper off. Sounds like a decent idea but it may prove tougher to execute then to talk about.

well its stilll in idea i havnt really worked to many details out yet.And yes you are right it would totaly destroy fiberglass but who ever has a flat surface under there bumper can perhaps do this!! i got to dismount the tte lip 1st and ill then see what i can do. And yea this will mainly protect the front of you car when taking driveways at an angle. when i scraped the one few times with my tte lip it was just underneath and nothing visible in the paint just underneath! so this is just to prevent the minor scraps!!If im low in the front and i come down a driveway i rather hear some metal scraping then my lip lol
at the moment im gona be working on my wheels tomorrow once the trafficstars coming! i gota test fit them with the 275s and see how it works out! then ill mod the fenders accordingly then brake job and then tweaking the retro a bit more! then ill mess with this idea!!

Here you go Thanks to RMMGS4
Probably one of the best I've seen but you may be talking about a skid plate type of application.
