Default Lexus original rims

Since it's the winter and where I'm from there is a lot of snow, should I change my original lexus rims to some Multi-fit Steel Rim?
Another question...there isn't much snow on the street right now but it seems like I'm the only one having trouble driving around ( even a Yaris isn't having any difficulty driving around)...my car starts drifting or slippering...I have a hard time accelerating unless I press the VSC OFF button( wich makes my car rev like crazy)what can be the problem?

P.S its a gs430 2001 with pirelli winter tires
thanks in advance for the help =)

Put the car in snow mode and some weight in the trunk.

Rims won't help your traction if your tires are worn. Snows wear quicker then normal tires. What shape/size are you tires in? Narrower and a higher profile would help in the snow. If they are chrome I would change them as the salt would eat at their finish. I have a 02 430 and take off the chrome 17's and put on 16's for winter. This is more to save the rims as my car doesn't see rain let alone snow.

I had stock 17's with Blizzaak tires and they were virtually useless in snow. I switched to 16" 225/55/16 GW3 Goodyears and there was quite a bit of improvement in traction but still not what I would call great traction. I get much better traction with Michelin Arctic Alpins on my Cressida than I do with the Goodyears, but I think that is also partly due to the LSD in the Cressida. I think if the GS4 came with an LSD if would provide much better snow traction but then you would have to deal with the enormous torque from the motor causing the rear end to go squirrely on you.

I suggest you get 16" wheels and maybe even go to a 215 tire width and change your driving habits for winter and you will be fine.
