Default black GS with chrome wheels? ghetto or decent?

never been a fan of chrome, but have an opportunity to purchase a staggered 20" set up that is chrome. ive spent the last few nights searching and i cant find any pictures of black GS's with decent looking chrome wheels....keep finding them with wheels that are so god awful it doesnt help things.

the wheels have a lip on them which would make it pretty easy to paint the centers matte black or something like that. i just cant make up my mind what i want to do.

if anybody could post up some pictures i would appreciate it!

How about a pic of the wheels you're considering to better help us form an opinion.

the set im interested in is a used set. they are available in black, but a gloss black. i think a matte black would look a bit nicer?

You may want to give it a second thought about getting Sevas wheels.

IMO, the wheel (and frequently lack of lowering) determines whether it's gonna look "ghetto", there are some hideous chrome wheels out there (Lexani comes to mind) that give chrome a bad name for alot of people. I love a tasteful chrome wheel that works with the car and isn't gaudy and overpowering. I've got chrome on my black GS; here's a couple pics; apologies for the size and poor quality but you get the idea. https://www.clublexus.com/gallery/sh...00&ppuser=4957

I personally prefer a 5 spoke to 6 or 7 spoke on a bigger car such as the GS, but those wouldn't look bad.

It sounds like the OP has read up on this but to answer the post above me, Sevas had some very serious issues with build quality on their cast wheel lines a while back, and at least initially didn't seem very concerned about the safety of their customers. I don't know if or how this has been resolved and would hesitate to buy used Sevas cast wheels and would need to read up on how they've dealt with this before I'd consider putting their wheels on my car.

i totally agree how the stance of the car totally determines how it looks.

here is my old audi, the picture is from me selling a civic i bought with those god awful wheels on it. this was the last car i had a long time ago that i actually did cosmetic stuff to.

this is my current project, which causes me to be budget on buying wheels....its actually in this months Turbo Magazine

ironically, on the bigger car like the GS i prefer a wheel a little different than yours, but yours still looks really good.

this looks nice.

i found this, this doesnt look too hateful.

i wish i had some cash for some more expensive wheels!
