Yeah, personally I believe you start getting a good paint job around $5000.

Ya Elliot has been my main guy on my car for 4 years, he used to also detail at MadMods when Bobby was in Ft. Lauderdale. Thats where I met him. He would drive up to my house to detail my car. I think I remember hearing that he crashed the red 240.

Anyway back on subject, Not everyone can afford to drop 5k and up for a great paint job. I think my point was that you can get a pretty decent paint job for around 2500-3k

Hey whats up up im new to this forum, but had to chime in and yes i see the date. Anyway ive been painting for the past say 15 years and i have to agree that u can get a quality and even show quality for 3k or so. IMO and i have tried many different paint brands is that the paint doesnt really matter in most cases, its how its laid down. Prep is most important, thats where u make your money provided u can lay down some color. Best thing to do is shop around compare and ask to see some of there work, who ever u decide to go with. 3k is still a good bit of change lol.

I have to disagree...it takes more coats of Omni paint to get the same coverage as a good DBU from PPG...paint brand matters....

that's crazy prices. i wouldnt paint the car over 3k. just not worth it. a gs doesnt even cost that much nowadays. that's like 1/3 of a car right there, just on paint.

Show paintjobs and daily driver paintjobs are two different paintjobs. So for us lesser people who arent in the industry lol "whatever that supposed to mean" we are not coming out our pocket 10k for no damn lowrider paintjob.
Well, I'm pretty sure that was directed at me. I did state that you can probably get a decent paint job for about $3K in my earlier post... if that's good enough for you, go to it!

My point was that because I work in the industry my vehicle is a reflection of my professionalism, my product, and my passion. I could justify spending the $ because my car is a rolling portfolio of what I do. And, yes, over time, working in the automotive business you develop relationships and partnerships with other people in the same industry. In may case, my painter and I both gained from the work he did on my car- he gets referral business and media exposure, and I get a great demo vehicle to showcase my products.

I actually prepped my car myself (as I have always done with my cars), removing door panels, door handles, lights, fender liners... anything I can reasonably remove to make the job better and let the body & paint guys focus on what they do WELL... that is, bodywork, blocking, painting, color sanding & buffing. I've actually done a lot of the disassembly and reassembly, and unless you've done it yourself you can have no idea how time-consuming it is.

Lowrider paint job... not exactly.

Need a refill for that glass of Haterade?

I've seen SoCalSC4's at last year's President's Day meet. The paint job is what you call PERFECT. Quality is definitely there.

If money was no object then I'd spend the money right away. But because my car is a daily driver, it's going to see rocks all day long, thus my paint is still stock
