Default Xpel installation

For those of you that have xpel installed on their cars, I am wondering if $500 sounds like a reasonable price to have both the front hood and the bumper kit installed? This is through a pro shop ofcourse,

also anyone had the headlight protection done, any opinions?

anyone interested in OC/LA area? let me know, maybe we can get a group buy going for better price,

Default xpel products

500 for the bumper and paint kit installed is to much.
I have the head light kit and installed it myself it took about an hour but man its worth it. The whole light kit protects the fog lights and all top lights. Its worth it.

Im from Las Vegas and I got a quote for 400 dollars even to install the paint kit and bumper kit.

E-mail me at Colnago31@yahoo.com if you have anymore questions.

Tony:

How easy was it to install the Xpel headlight kit? Did you have any difficulties installing on the GS's curved headlights?

I forgot how much it costed me for the hood kit which comes with the side mirrors too.

$500 does sound much, but I don't think it is way off.

I really like it. Considering I even got a damn chip on my windshield.

$500 is for 2 kits, the hood and the bumper kits! it would be ~275 for just one! so does that sound more reasonable now?

lex430:

$500 for bumper/hood/mirror kit including installation is an excellent price. I would go for it.

I just got the hood/mirror/light kit installed this week - $350 for parts/labor. It took 2 hours for the installation. Do-it-yourself installation is not impossible, you just need the right tools and patience, but experience helps alot. The light protection is worth the $60.

I'll take some pics and post them soon.

sounds great, I am going to take a look at a few cars this installer did, to see it in person what it looks like, before i have it done. Btw, the website said to prepare the surface before installation, a 'clean' surface, I have Zaino on my car, I am wondering if that is considered clean? or do I need to dish detergent wash it?

I would wash the car before the install, no wax or polish. The installer will clear the surface that the xpel will be applied to with some solution. You can't wash the car for several days afterwards.

Sorry for the ignorance, but what is this stuff and what does it look like. Any pictures after the install?

check the link in my 1st post..,

or go to the xpel website, in a very short description, invisible bra for your car! the advantage, it doesn't scratch your car like a bra does!

Sorry, it was late when I first replied. However, I know that it is two kits and that although the $500.00 may seem quite a lot for some damn plastic, I think it is around market value.

Can't say that it is a great deal or a bad deal...it is just ok.

Hmmmm... if my car was clean I take some pictures....but haven't had time to wash.

ShowGS:

Xpel is partically invisable on my silver GS. Some angles and light conditions may make it a more apparent, but not noticable. Basically, if someone is walking by your car, the won't even see it.

I'm gonna post some pics soon...

The headlight kit was not hard to install at all. ON the big curved lights, its easy if you have some one hold the hair dryer while your smoothing down the bumps and spraying the alcohol and water solution.
I am definitely not mechanically inclined and I was able to do it in one hour.
