The were three different Platinum Series packages for the 2000 GS -- same as for the 2000 LS. GS info is here: http://www.lexus.com/contact/pdf/2000/2000GSspecs.pdf

There were also two versions of the Platinum Series ES . A Platinum Series car also came with an an American Express Platinum card with the fee paid for two years.

Here is a link to the press release about the 2000 Platinum Series: http://www.lexus.com/about/news/arti...0000209_1.html

The main thing I like about my Platinum Series LS is the maple wood -- I'm not a fan of dark wood and dark car interiors but that's a personal preference. Photos of my Platinum's interior are in my gallery: https://www.clublexus.com/gallery/sh...y.php?cat=3365

Being a pleased owner of a Platium Edition i can say, the Platinum edition isn't really all that special but it is fun to throw it in there when describing your car for the first time to ppl. You: "Yeah its a Lexus" Impressionable guy or girl: "Wow! really?" You: "and, oh yeah... It's a Platinum Edition". It just sounds baller.

I think Lexus considered the glove box as part of the dash in 1998 - hence the "in dash CD changer"
