Well it's been a while so I'm probably mis-remembering. Could very well have been a second to downshift. I don't want to drive around with E-shift on all the time. It really became an issue for me on one particular day when I had to floor the gas pedal to get out of someone else's way and the annoying delay almost caused an accident.

Any more info on the throttle controller? Link?

Has anyone driven the GS300 that can comment on the difference with the 400s?
I don't see my lag that bad, or maybe I just don't notice it as much.

I used to have a 94 GS300, it seemed to shift faster, but it didnt shift as aggressively. The biggest problem with GS430, whenever you step on the gas somewhat hard, it wants to downshift instead of just pulling in the gear its already in. After its downshifted it pulls nicely, but the problem is, this downshift causes a delay and sometimes you're in a situation where this delay just screws you up.

I have found in both my LS400 and GS430 with drive by wire , that keeping it out of Overdrive helps it shift much quicker.

How do you keep your GS430 out of overdrive?

So you drive around in 4th or 3rd without E-shift?

I was looking at Chrysler 300Cs today and my stomach turned.

No CTS-Vs available in my area.

When you put the car into 4th it means it stops at 4th gear. Not that you are stuck driving into it.
Also by selecting any gear you are shutting off the O/D .
One major contributor to slushy shifting is regular gas. If you do not use premium the tranny is so quirky where it will never shift right and always delay , atleast that is what i have found.

well i own both a 99 gs 300 and a 2001 gs 430 and swaped rear ends on them only because i wanted taller gears on the 300 for my 6 speed conversion, now the 430 has a lot of added down low pull i mean this thing will probably snap your neck upon a really hard aceleration lol.....also has good mid range to it too probably suffers a lil on top but not too much

Question Ect mode????

I am not sure about this, but if you press the ECT MODE button. Does'nt the car shifft more aggressively without lag? At all speeds, rolling or it a launch.

I try it every now and then. It seems like the car shifts more aggressively after the ECT button is pressed.

Did anyone experience this?
