How is the ride and handling of an L-tuned GS?
I noticed Lexus has a factory installed modification package for its Lexus GS series. Unfortunately, it is tought finding a Lexus GS to test drive that has the L-tuned package to compare ride and handling. So to anyone who owns one of these cars with the L-tuned package, please post some details on the changes you noticed in ride, handling, interior noise etc. I test drove a BMW 540 and a Lexus GS430. The BMW certainly handles better, but I like the Lexus for all its other qualities better. So I am wondering if the L-tuned package helps make up the difference between the 2 cars a bit. Thanks

L-Tuned
I have a 98 GS400 with essentially the L-Tuned performance suspension package. I have the L-Tuned shocks with Eibach springs. From what I understand, the Eibachs are very similar to the L-Tuned springs. I also have the RMM strut tower brace.
I did drive a 540 auto, and it rides slightly better over bumps and such, however the handeling and cornering of my GS outperformes the BMW by quite a bit.

honestly, if you only go with the Ltuned suspension along, GS430
wont outhandle a 540i sport. BUT with TRD sways, TOM's rear 6 piece and Tom's front/rear brace and front/rear STBs . it will surely outhandle any bmw maybe except m5 and m3 and m roadsters, and z8.

Ride & Handling is composite of a number of factors; Shocks, Springs, wheel size, tires, suspension mods, etc.
I have (1999 GS 400) w/ L-Tuned springs/shocks, Steering ECU, 18" OZ wheels (8" F & 9" R) w/ Michelin Super Pilots and the TRD STB.
The ride is definitely 'harsher' then the stock set-up. However, handling and responsiness is dramatically improved. The car now transfers the horsepower to the road in a positive and predictable manner. Sure it's not as 'cushy' and quiet as the stock set up but it's the tradeoff that you'l need to make if you want 'performance' handling.
My humble opinion of course.
Good luck.
