Troque converter (SRT) or Differ
For i past one year i been fixing up the 'handling and stablity' part + exhasut and intake for the GS 300. This is because i like mountain racing and going to the race track plus its looks good anyways.......
so last week for no reason, my friend who had a CLK320 stock wanted to challenge the 0-60 speed on the GS300. So i agreed. I freakin' lost to the CLK320 by 1 car length!!!!! I am furious right now and i need help from you guys to decide if the troque converter from SRT or the limited-slip differential from L-Sport is better.
I heard that the LSD(not drugs!!) causes the top speed to decrease and the acceleration when you are in the high gears to decrease too. However, i have not much knowledge on those Troque converter.
I need your help to kill those CLKs on the street!!!!!! Plz

If you get the RMM LSD, you will hit your REV limiter quicker (a bad thing), than using the TRD LSD, since the TRD uses the stock gearing.
If I were to try to get my GS quicker than that 320, I would do in this order:
1) SRT Torque Convertor (it will get you off the line faster, but you may spin your tires from the extra torque)
2) SRT High Intake (the Torque Convertor would get you in the RPM range for the Intake to take over)
3) TRD LSD (puts power to both wheels, and traction to the ground; unlike the stock Open Differential which puts it to only one. But this would greatly reduce the wheel spin from the Torque Convertor)
With either/both of those mods, you should be able to take him off the jump (Torque Convertor), and stay in front (Intake)

0-60 IMHO, dosent prove anything. Its pretty much how fast you can take off the line. Try running a full 1/4 mile or up to 120 mph. Then you can see how has the more powerful car. But doing the TC, intake, LSD will certainly help

Like Bitkahuna said up grade to a GS400. But IMO your racing a car that's a lot lighter than yours, so if you look at the power to weight ratio the CLK should win.

Yeah, if you took off those 18's it would have been a different story. BUT those 18's will help you if you go to the SRT torque convertor since you will have more rubber to the ground.
