Default update!!!

well finally the motor is back in the car and got a couple of miles on it already, were getting ready to take it to the dyno for a mild re tune just because of the bigger injectors and cams ........sorry i was kinda busy to update with more pics so here goes..
so here's the botom end being assembled with the new custom cp pistons@9:1 cr hanging onto the new custom grp aluminium con rods and rotating on the new stroked crank

so here you see the new custom billet main caps with all new arp stud treatment

so here you can see the hks 272 cams just mated to the head along side the 1mm oversized stainless valves with springs, retainers, locks etc all from ferrarra.........

so the head was mated to the block via factory head gasket and arp 1/2 inch studs.........this is gonna be one bad *** motor .....much thanks to vj and jason @ big daddy performance center here in south florida these guys really know their way around the 2jz motor with enough dyno/track record to prove.........thanks guys

Just curious, why did you decide on aluminum con rods? I would think that you would want something that will be stronger to mate the pistons to the crank. Aluminum will eventually stretch with the repeated cycles of heat and "G" forces created during high RPM. Unless you are just gonna take the motor apart regularly for inspection.

the aluminium con rods have proven themselves to be quite resiliant to the heat cycles, here from this shop they currently have 4 motors on street driven cars that has been into the 4 digit power range and driven daily with no problems to date plus its light weight makes for a faster revving motor, all in all they are very strong con rods and have yet to see one break.......

Default tuning update

so i finally got a hold of lance of toyomoto to help me out with the tuning and a bit of diagnostics of a couple of issues the car was having......the good is we were making some decent power on pump gas,we ended the night with 574rwhp @ 17psi on a gt4067 but started to loose fuel pressure......
the bad....1 of the walbros went south so i bought two new ones to replace tomorrow, also i was having some real issues with the car shutting off after wot and as it turns out i may have a faulty throttle body so i was lucky to have found one tonight too ........so i have my work cut out for me tomorrow so we can get this thing dialed inn sometime next week......really looking forward to see some good numbers out of this turbo ( not my main expected goal) but it'll work for now until $$$$ comes around.....but till next week guys ill have better results and a dyno chart for you guys to see whats going on...........randy
