Default Loud steering noise in park

When my car is parked I keep turning my steering wheel back and forth and is making a loud screeching noise. I checked to see if there was power steering fluid leaking, but can't find any leaking out are on the ground. Do you guys now what this can be? I can't really hear the noise when I'm driving I'm confused.

Sound's like a possible power steering pump. Did you check the p/s fluid level? Also describe in more detail the sound you are hearing.

Do you hear this sound when your wheel is fully turned to one side? Or do you hear it throughout the whole turning process? It is a little hard to pinpoint without hearing it, thus the many questions.

I had the same problem, but not when I turned the wheel, it was all the time. It turned out to be my serpentine belt.

I hear throughout the whole turning process. One side seems to be louder than the other.

I've been experiencing the same noise on my '98 gs400. My boy had his bushings go out so he thought that might be what it was. Had the shop check the bushings but that wasn't it. So...... This belt? Where is it and is a DIY?

I just came back from the shop. They said there is nothing wrong with the car. I can't hear anything while I'm in the car. I can only hear when I turn the wheel outside of my car. i did the for the first time last week and that is when i notice it. I just sounds kind of loud. The guy at the shop said when you turn the suspension is going to make some noise. The sound is almost like my 5.0 mustang when i turn the wheel. Anyways can't hear the noise when I'm in the car and it still turns and doesn't leak power steering fluid. Maybe, my car is just getting old I do have a 160,000 miles on it.
