Default Auto Leveling Issue ?

From previous forums, people are having problems with their auto leveling headlights after installing their d2r bulbs. Why is that? Is there a correct way to install the d2r bulbs ? Does disconnecting the battery better or disconnecting the ballast better to do it the correct way ? I'm going to install new 5000k soon. I would appreciate your support. Thank you.

I never disconnected anything when I changed mine. Just opened up the cap, unplugged and switched the bulbs. I've never had any problems.

I remember seeing one post about auto-leveling problems recently, are there more similar incidents after changing bulbs?

Never thought changing a bulb would be so complicated. Other than the lack of space behind the headlight, there should be no problem.

Sounds more like you got a light with a bad motor or the auto-leveler didn't get plugged in than a problem caused by changing bulbs. I still don't understand how it could get messed up changing bulbs.

You guys are right about no space behind the lights. One of those times I wish I had small hands, it took me 10 minutes to get one of the grey caps back on because of the lack of space!

If you really want to you can. I always just make sure the headlights are off. If you turn on the headlights without a bulb inside, the ballast could give you a nice shock.

Ok look my headlights are brand new they already came with bulbs inside ,all i did was transfer the ballast and stuff .Then the driver side wouldn't level but i will find out this sunday and will let you guys know cause i am removing the whole front end,and replace levelling motor under the headlight i think that what the problem is .

I didn't realize how complicate this would be...it just simply plug and play...no need to disconnect anything rather than turn off the headlight...space is something you need to work on..cuz there is any space....

Hmm... Might be because some people got big hands and accidentally hit the headlight housing too many times and the adjusting screws got loose and moved the whole headlight unit ????
