OK i have searched soo No flaming , ive searched on Drls alot and i have only found ways to disable them.
Basically i like my DRLS, but there just so yellow dim nasty looking. i have heard that if you change them to the 9005 LED versions they wont work beacuse of the half wattage the cars running in DRL mode. So what can i do to have bright DRLS and not disable them and have them work like they do now just brighter , is there a way to get them to power up fully,
If i were to add an hid kit to my DRL they wont come on do to under powered ballast ? HELP!!!!!!!

well apparently you didn't search because there are hundreds of threads about this, but i'll synopsize to save you some time.
The problem is that the DRL is nothing but the high beam running at 50% VOLTAGE. There is a difference between wattage and voltage, you should research this point before you get into this type of mod just so you can be safe with it.
In order to run the LED DRLs or the HID Kit, you will need to install an inline relay that will not power them up unless under full load. There is a way that i know you can run the LED drl's at full voltage. I wouldn't recommend your DRLs being HID's because they will blind oncoming motorists even during the day somewhat. The LEDs wont be as bad, and will still provide good high beam output on the road at night.
Search for the keyword "LED/HID conversion" as i remember someone just recently did exactly what you are looking to do, plus interior LEDs and stuff.

Ok i did search i read this site probably 4 of the 8 hours im at work lol....all you told me i already knew except the inline fuse part ?("In order to run the LED DRLs or the HID Kit, you will need to install an inline relay that will not power them up unless under full load" )can you elaborate a little more? does that mean they wont turn on unless i put it on high beam? i dont care about my HB at ALL i dont need it , so even after searching i dont have a CLEAR answer as too how to get the LEDs on and not burn out quickly due to only running at 50% capacity.
Jcat thanks for the reply

"To match my 6000k headlights, I wanted a good city light setup. I have seen alot of front facing setups before, but I checked out the housing and figured out a back firing design would give a cleaner look, without a "hot spot" of light, and just a cooler, evenly exposed housing. So I have 4 Leds firing into the housing, and only at some angles can you even see the Led's themselves."

that's the quick and dirty way to do it. What i meant with the inline relay is it will only run at 100% power, i.e. like your high beams normally when you have your high beams switched on, but the relay will make them run at 100% whenever your DRLs would normally be at 50%.
I think that may be confusing, so i'll say it like this:
BEFORE RELAY AFTER RELAY
High beam switched on: 100% 100%
DRL auto on: 50% 100%

My DRLs run at full power.. the only bummer is that it disables the high beams.
