We have a guinea pig! I suspect its basic data and POI's. I doubt Lexus would spent too much time on a old Nav setup. I hope you tell me I'm wrong though.

I am running the original nav disk so the updates should be pretty significant for me, and less so for you guys who are running 7.1. I saw that the new disc has like 3 times the miles that the original does so I am excited about no longer having to "guess" everytime I go some place that was built within the last 5 years lol.

I'll keep you all updated.

i had the oem and went to the 7.1 but it still was behind because back then the economy was going strong and people were building. i'll have my gen 4 8.1 soon though....cant wait for the opinions from you BUT keep in mind your updating almost 5-7 years if u running oem disc and depending on what year your car is so its ALL gonna be majorally different for you.
a true comparison would be the guys who went from 7.1 to 8.1 IMHO

I am going from my original 2002 disc so I am sure there will be major updates to the information. I am hoping for actual UI updates. I look forward to your updates.

I still have the original disk also and was wondering if the update was worth it or should I get a portable for about the same price? That way I would have 2 and I think free upgrades on the portable.

AZ - $? OEM?
