sorry if this is in the wrong section, i do not see a newbie section so i post it here. mods please move if its in the wrong section.
Hi everybody, my name is sam and i am new here. im from columbus, OH. dont know if anybody else here is from OH. i do not have a lexus yet. i have been reading and searching for cars for awhile now. i always liked the 2GS and always wanted one and now im gonna get one tomorrow. the car im getting is a white 99 GS300 108k miles. pretty sure im gonna have to get the timing belt and water pump replaced. i also read about the ball joint going out. i dont really want to put to much into this car. just want something nice to roll around in. maybe some 20's, not sure bout lowering the car cause i dont want to waste money on tires. i know it looks alot better, but i dont want to lose the ride quality either.
i had a 92 honda civic hatch si which was recently stolen. i have always loved honda but dont want to build another car just for it to get stolen again.
it had quite a few mods done to it, gsr motor, built bottom end, lsd, turbo charged. it was a very fast car and very fun to drive but i gotta move up a lil and get out of the honda game. i was also looking at 02+ tl-s but dont want it for known tranny problems.
hope this is a great forum to be in.

Welcome. I am sure we have some more members from Columbus. You can lower your GS without creating a tire shredding situation. You just have to be conservative about it. At least a small drop is a prerequisite to adding larger wheels due to our off-roading wheel gap.

dammit, the car was sold so i didnt get it. im still searching for one but cant find a clean white one with good miles on it. all i see is black and silver and they got pretty high miles for its year. i only want to spend 8-10k maybe but im still searching for the right one. im leaning towards the black if i cant find a white one.

yeah i seen it too. after looking at the pictures for a while, the seats look kinda dirty and steering wheel is worn out. so to me, its not that clean and i seen better ones. i can wait till i find the right one. dont really wanna jump on something, if its something i dont really want and be dissapointed after. my mind is set on getting a GS300 or GS400.

welcome to CL..this is a great place to find all the info you need..i was a honda guy too..i sold my ej8 with a gsr swap because i kept getting pulled over..cops and honda/acura's don't mix too well down here in so cal..i've been on here since september..good luck with the buy
