Default should I go with a different tire size

I'm currently running 245/35/19 tires in the front and 275/35/19's in the rear. I bought my tire/rim setup from a co worker and apparently the rims are fairly exotic (two-piece manarays) from japan. My concern is that the front rims are showing the results of running such a low profile tire and the rims are "dented" on the lip in several places. I do have a slow leak on the driver side tire so I'm promted this week to just bite the bullet and have the rims straightened out. Considering that it'll be about $80 per rim and that I'll be due for new tires soon, should I run a larger setup in the front? Would it matter if I went with a 255/35/19? I know that increases the width but overall diameter goes up a bit. How about a 245/40/19? Does anyone have experience with the difference in sizes? Aesthetically, will I notice a difference? thanks

I would go to a 245/40 personally. That should be a fairly good match for the back tires as far as sidewall height and therefore OD; as well as giving you a little extra protection for wheels. Unless your front wheels are at least 9" wide I don't think a 255 would look good and it won't fit well unless your offsets are real conservative. I can't think of anything making it a better choice than the 245/40 unless you're racing the car or very concerned about handling.

Appreciate the response, 245/40 it is. The more I try to visualize the height difference, the more I think I won't be dissapointed. The added protection is probably a better trade off than the appearance.

I would go with the 245/40/19 up front to match the rear 275/35/19. That would be your typical "Fat" tire set up. Normal would be 245/35/19 with 275/30/19 rear. What you were running is a mix of the two typical set ups.

245/40/19 is way to go... im running 245/40/19(off of G35 rear tire) and 285/35/19(off of a C6 corvette) and i do rub little on nf210s but way more better ride then before with 225/35/19 and 255/30/19 it's about inch higher and no gabs but i do have -2 degree camber in the back though also did roll on the back.... front wasn't that bad so i just left it and time to time it was rubbing little bit and it was rolled by my tire naturally looks clean too ^^. i just did daizen bushings on front so now i have way better handle and nothing is touching unless i run into dips fast enough.

Your speedometer will probably be a little off, I'm thinking those tires will be a little taller than stock; here's a calculator to figure out the difference. http://www.1010tires.com/TireSizeCal...?action=submit
