Post NEED HELP 235/45/17 GS400 Wheels tires to 225/50/17

First off, i got a set of 17in rims sitting around with brand new tires which is 225/50/17, and my tires on stock rims is going bald... Saving myself about a good $500 or so, i check with www.1010tires.com and diameter came out to 2%, which 1010tires require not to go over 3%... Anyone think its a good idea? Would it really make it a big diffence?

Thanks

It should be ok. A little bit less grip, and you might lose a little in the aesthetics department, but you'll be just fine.

I run 225 45 17 for my snow tires no problem they are fine as long as all 4 are the same, just if you have too much over, the speedo will not be as accurate, but then again, all manufacturer's speedo is not the same

Note: 1010tires' a Canadian comp, so all prices are in Canadian and it's more expensive than Tirerack... well, at least to whatever tires I've tried to find before...
