I don't even want to look at what mine is worth, good thing I'm happy with it and don't plan on selling any time soon. I would bet money I owe more than I could get for it, but I'd do it again.

Ill never look at the blue book, I dont need some ***** named kelly to tell me how much my cars worth to ME! which is all that matters, lol. Plus my car has almost 200k almost needs a heart transplant.

PLus the modding potential of the 2GS is IMO better than most luxury brands. Your GS + 10-15k = SEXY TURBO LEX =**** on everyone on the road IMO.

Jeff's car Blue's car SilverGS etc etc etc
Those cars are sick !They prob spent more but you get the point

you still doing payments?

anyways, seems like times like these are hard for people who are still paying off for their car(s) to keep up with their monthly payment(s)

LOL

Im never selling the GS its a piece of art, after a refreshing buff/detail, people cant tell if its 2-3 years old. and the value drop is not that bad. My friend bought a e500 in 2008 with 34k and now its worth 16k!!!! I fell over laughing and he only has like 50k miles on and its acting up with non stop electrical problems. He lost 17k in 1 year i lost 2k, so we still win.

You guys are crying over car value Get on our boat where we are loosing hundreds of thousands of dollars in real state, lets not forget the stock market ether.
I rather have my car be worth a penny then loose what I have lost in home value and stock share value. Be glad you're not on that boat, besides if you hold on to the GS, in 50yrs it should be worth something again. But you have to stop driving it, so it will last that long

Mine is worth more than I owe only if it's sold Private Party which would be a task in itself. I suppose I'm going to be keeping it for a long while.

there are 3 factors you're overlooking here:

1. As soon as a car becomes 10 years old or more, the price drops severely.

2. As soon as a car hits 100k miles, the price drops severely.

3. Whatever mods or maintenance you have done on the car has no real effect on value, except maybe conditional adjustment (even then since only 5% of used cars fall into excellent, we're talking a couple hundred difference.)

Your 1998 GS400 with 100k miles is showing a clean trade in of about 9200. Considering other cars that are 11 years old with 100k miles, that's a damn good number. I would not expect that much for a dealer on trade in, probably more like 6 or 7k would be what they'd offer you. I would expect to get about 10k for it selling it private party.

can that be right? i swear mine said my 2001 gs430 with ML+Nav and 100001 (yeah i JUST rolled) is only worth 12.5k so your saying a 3 year older car is only worth 3.3k less that mine....that just doesnt seem right?

well don't forget youre comparing an 11 year old GS400 with less options to an 8 year old gs430 with all the options.

And yeah, 3 years for 3300 dollars depreciation seems about right. Like i said, a dealer would NEVER offer you book value for your trade.
