I guess everyone's tolerance is different. I would not have issues with the lights being slightly raised. If there was not enough space inside to fit the lights, I'd rather have it raised vs having to make the housings slightly bigger. From inside the car, you can't really see it anyway.

OTOH, I was put back a little by the slight angle issues of the 98-00 housings. If there is a new mold to be made, I would push for the angle to be USDM.

My car definitely needs a set since I drilled holes in mine to fit wiring for the Tom's covers (now sold). Once I get my car back, I will be talking to Nigel. I actually find this clamor for the blinkers amusing. I remember when I had one of the few cars with mirror blinkers (mine with the Tom's covers and the other guys with the custom retrofitted ones, which I like better), there were detractors who thought we should not be doing that because it was like copying MB. Now that many new cars have this, I guess it is not so bad?

I am not on the yes list for this because I have a 98. If these can somehow also fit the 98-00 with USDM angles, then yes. Otherwise, I think I will have to suck it up and get the already available ones. Sorry for any confusion.

Are there any pics of these on the older GS's with the puddle lights active? Sorry but I can't find any, looked for side markers but nothing specific to the ones with the puddle lights on? Thanks in advance!

Not only that it's common, we need to freshen it up a bit and seperate ourselves from the commoner
