Unfortunately the JDM market itself caters for things more with Silvias, Skylines and to some degree Soarers. The 1st Gen Aristo market is growing over here, but again most parts are sourced either from Japan directly or from the States.

The Australian Design Rules unfortunately really mess things up with certain features and such on cars. Hence a number of the features, although standard items in Japan, miss out in Australia. A great example of this is the Soarer for instance. In Japan (and in most new cars these days) the light on the dash that advises whether or not a seat belt is clipped in or not, was cut to meet compliance. Another example is the convex side mirrors that allow you to see more of the road, however the design rules require this to pretty much just be a normal mirror and as a result you lose quite a bit of what's happening around you.

[ant] I am hunting your car down when I am on Leach to see if I spot it. I'm sure I will one of these days.

thanks again for the positive comments all! i'm a real perfectionist with my cars and hate 'watering them down' so they're more legal/practical, but i guess thats what you have to do be able to drive them more often and enjoy them, so im glad people still like the look of it.

Sakataj - haha well im 24, 25 this year. got my 2GS last year when i was 23, so i was pretty young to own one of these here. I've only ever seen 3 others (sometimes see them a few times each), one is a guy probably about 60 who lives a couple of suburbs over from me, and remarkably has the same colour and interior as me! The other is a white one i saw in a posh shopping area with a guy about 50 and his wife, and the third was silver and had yacht club stickers and i saw it near the coast a few times. Thats literally all ive seen!
