So are the fender liners there only for cosmetic purposes then? Such as hiding the sheet metal in the wheel well? Nice work with the hole saw. I used that once with a drill press and took me forever to cut out some metal.

Nice work. Ride low at any costs huh. It should be real easy to patch that up with anything from some sheet metal to a simple piece of vinyl decal.

I used to do this all the time with my Hondas back in the day. Throw a little gorilla tape over that hole.

There you go, that's the way you should have done it, heheh. Ride around town for a little bit, and the marks would have been made for you!! Good job tho, took a lot of guts!!

Drilling itself isn't hard. It's not rocket science, but at the same time, you want to drill the hole ONCE and only ONCE. Wouldn't want to be off by a few inches and have to drill another hole again

i've always wanted to do this but two things that scared me...

1) rain, dirt, and grime. I guess I could somehow glue on the fender liner and extend it a bit and weld on a cylinder of some sort on top...

2) structural rigidity and long term stress. anyone?

Finding the hole shouldn't be too hard for us who sit low enough...the damn upper control arm made a mark on my liner that screams "CUT HOLE HERE"
