Chinese Toyota Speciality Double Din Stereos
I've been shopping around on the internet looking for a alternative to the double din all screen stereos. I stumbled across this site:
http://www.chinadvdgps.com/toyota-dvd-gps.html
Call me crazy but, I would like a after market factory looking radio. The Pioneer AVIC looks great but, it has too much screen real estate. Ideally I would like a few hard buttons to compliment the touch screen. Similar to this one:
http://www.autodvdgps.com/index.php?...roducts_id=232
Does anyone have any experience with opening size of a Corolla or Landcruser?
thx,
Jack

I found this unit on ebay.
http://cgi.ebay.com/2-Din-Car-DVD-GP...ayphotohosting
Assuming it would fit in the GS it would be a nice looking alternative.

The stereo will require a stereo install kit. Something like this, and it will need to be modified.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/93-97...5fInstallation
The first kit is interesting because the picture shows the climate controls reorientated.
I will venture down to the Toyota dealership to measure the Corolla's dash opening.

HOW DO I KNOW?
BECAUSE THAT'S MY CUSTOM INSTALL THAT I DESIGNED, FABRICATED AND POSTED ON THE FORUMS OVER 5 YEARS AGO ! ! !
Now that I have your attention, I have contacted E-Bay about this seller weeks ago and still nothing has been done.
The 2GS is 10+ years old, and we have been posting for umpteen years, on where to find DIN kits that fit and look good.
Learn how to DO A SEARCH and you will find all sorts of info.

That's pretty sad, because once a buyer gets their hands on that kit, they will be sad to find out it's nothing like the picture. And that is a picture of RMMGS4's dash. I'd like to see them replicate the reverse HVAC controls with the headunit.
