ok guys, time to upgrade my yellow fogs to some HID's i just ordered some 4300k for them. im thinking of a place to mount the ballast. this not a slim one. its just the regular size cube looking one. thanks.
i mounted mine behind the front crash bar with some super strong 3m adhesive tape, or you can try to fit it IN between the crash bar if that works. it didnt for me.
does the light with the OEM yellow shield get really hot since the shield is so small? and whats the color outcome look like with 4300? i plan on doing this mod in the near future
I've got mine in between the two parts of the crash bar, secured with some real strong tape. Seems to be working well for me and it's the safest spot I could find to keep them out of harm's way.
I just did mine last week with 3k. decided to be a jackass and not mount them so i lost one on the highway so i wasnt gonna lose another 75$ for a single ballast so my cousin decided to shove them into the engine bay so nobody could steal them and no mounting is needed. you just gotta look really hard the driver side one you gotta shove it between wires n pipes and the passenger one fits in easily. let me know if you can do this ill try to help you out.
Update please. Anticipating to do this also. Want to get clear lens instead of yellow to go with 5000k instead of 3000k.
IMO If you fog lens are clear, should get the same temp as your low beam if you have HID. I personally like 6000k which have a touch of blue...
BTW where is the crash bar? Is it inside the fog bay area? I dont want to get water inside the fog light bay area, so I mount my passenger side by the Air filter by engine, driver side by the Low beam.
