The only time you have a problem with weakening the wheel is when the powdercoater uses heat to get the original paint off of the wheel, as it takes much higher heat to do that than it does to cure the powdercoat.

Why not just sandblast then?

Jimmy: Did you take them to Wheel Techniques? What finish did you decide on? Post pics when you get them back!

Yeah. I took it to wheel techniques. The guy was in a good mood and gave me a price that was hard for me to refuse.

I tried polishing it myself and jeez, it was a pain in the ***! Polishing out the scratches was way too much work and I doubt i would do it myself.

Jeff @ Wheel Techniques said he will first polish out all the imperfections from the face, paint the inserts and the inner barrel gunmetal grey, and then use powder clear (black pearl) finish. All this for $440.00. Plus another $80.00 for mount and balance, which brings me to $520.00 total.

I hope it turns out well.

Did you drop off your wheels yet?

Those look sweet. How much did those run you? You sure it will fit for the TRD wheels right?

Yes i am sure. I tested the 2GS and 3GS center cap on these wheels and it fits well. Also, I have seen 2IS center caps fit 3GS wheels and a member with a 2IS use ISF center caps. Here is the pic!

Oh yeah. I ordered the center caps from Lexus and it was about $16.50 each....
