Default Spoiler or Not? GS430

Im trying to decide if I should have a spoiler taken off of a 2005 430, Does anyone know about how much that would cost and what kind of place I should take it to get it down, ex. dealer, or body shop?

Welcome to CL!

I'm assuming this is the stock spoiler? I'd ask around and find a reputable body shop to remove it since the mounting holes will need to be filled and the trunk lid will then need to be repainted. The dealer would charge a ridiculous amount for this.

Your other option is to post in the classifieds here and see if someone local with the same color wants to trade their trunk without spoiler for your trunk. This is probably a long shot since the stock spoiler seems to have fallen out of favor here. I'm still alright with mine and in no hurry to get rid of it, although I'd rather have a JP 3-piece!

It's personal choice, but I am one of the few that actually like the stock spoiler.

I am not sure what color you have, I have like the maroon/black cherry looking color, I also have a GS 300 so not sure if it would work with you but if we have the same color I would love to swap with you if you want. I love the spoilers but mine did not come with one.

Are you going to put another spoiler on it?
I have a 04 black 430 with the spoiler delete, (I think its kinda rare as most of the gs's came with the wing)I am also trying to decide but reverse of your situation. I'm getting used to the round trunk look. If I do I am looking at the RMM unit, its not radically different than the stock one but it unique. I am also looking to get the RMM grill also.. with black chrome emblems

I personally like the GS with the spoiler. Its a little plane looking for me without it. It can be any spoiler. The stock spoiler I like and kept it on my car. Also, for those that had the OEM spoiler and want to remove it, what are you going to do about the 3rd brake light since it is in the spoiler and there is no 3rd brake light on the rear deck like those that didn't have the OEM spoiler?

i was thinking of removing it also but am starting to have 2nd thoughts...just yesterday i was reverse parking and i could see my cars reflection on the glass and the rear looked really badass with my LED tails and the spoiler lights. Main issue with me is that i will loose the spoiler lights which look really good and bright.

I agree with RI-lex, if you dont plan on modding at all I would leave the spoiler.
