Sun Glass Holder In Overhead Console
I took the home link cover off to install a Valentine One and noticed this area seems to be designed to have a swing down door, maybe for a sun glass holder? Has anyone installed a new home link in the visor and found the correct part number for the swing down door? The door is probably used in another Lexus/Toyota product. Who can help with this modification? I have a lead on a visor mounted home link. If there is interest I'll post the price and vendor on the home link. Can someone help with the door?

If you are referring to the center console near the lights above the rear view mirror, my 1998 GS400 had a sunglass holder there. Unfortunately I crashed that one and got a 2KGS. This may help identifying the part number at your local dealer.

Yes I was referring to the overhead console over the rear-view mirror which on my 2001 contains map lights, sunroof controls and the homelink. This is the first I've heard that the 1998 GS has the sunglass flipdown holder in the console. Is this true? If so, I wonder why Lexus didn't keep the holder there and add the Homelink to the visor???

It looks like the existing homelink could be moved into the visor, but we need to find a source for a homelink faceplate. Most visor mounted homelink units have an oval faceplate. Any ideas? The lighted mirror in the visor already has unused pos and neg spade type connectors that can be used to power the homelink.

It should work for a 1998 model, but a couple of replies up someone said they had a sunglass holder in a 1998 GS. Do you have a homelink in the overhead console?
