A $15,000 Hyundai looks similar to the Lexus GS300/400/430. That sucks! Anyone else agree with me?
To remain sane, I have told myself the following things:
1. Its a Hyundai.
2. The interior, if equiped with leather, is probably made from chicken.
3. The plastic is probably thin as newspaper.
4. The 100,000 mi warranty will probably be used weekly.
5. The 181hp engine is probably as smooth as a horse drawn carriage.
6. Its a Hyundai.
Take a look. Disagree is you like, but the front facia has some, and I mean SOME as a mild degree, similarities to our GS.
Cheers.

You like that?
Hey xsuperjoex, you liked that huh? I wanted to make sure everyone know that I'm not too caught up in this. I am just trying to have a little fun. I really don't give a crap if the Hyundai looks similar to my GS. Big deal. I know what I've got and if others mistake my car for a Hyundai, they're an idiot!
Cheers!

Talking about copycat, you guys should check out the Daewoo Magnus that will soon to be sold here in US. I was in Korea and was checking it out at the dealership and I was like dang...it looked almost exactly the same as the GS especially the guages and the clock....Check out the following link and click and move your mouse over the interior part to see...

Daewoo may have bought the right to use GS parts from Lexus...I am saying maybe. They have a model in Asia that uses S-class body and chassis powered by their own micky mouse engine, and they bought the body straight from MB.

I wouldnt sweat it.
Remember...You cant polish a turd.
You can dress it up and paint it a fancy color, slap some nice wheels, possibly make it faster, but at the end of the day, when all is said and done, its a Hyundai.

Globe: Kaban is talking about the Sangyoung Chairman. It is the same platform as the previous gen e-class. The front grill looks almost exactly the same as MB and the side looks like the 1st gen LS400. IMO, it doesn't look bad at all especially in black...Saw a load of them when i was in seoul.

Not sure if it's Sanyoung...could be it tho. But it's a W140 s-class body and on the hood where the three point star is Daewoo put their own badge on it. Engine is a v4 or 6 and I heard it's very under powered.

Yes, it is a sangyoung with the 3.2 litre engine producing 220 hp. There's another version a 2.x that produces 160 hp only and it's on a huge car like that. Just think of it as a modernize S320 or E320 from the old skool....As far as the brand name, daewoo recently purchased sangyoung so all sangyoung cars are sold thru daewoo. Check out the sangyoung rexton if you haven't seen it..it's a pretty cool looking suv. I had a chance to ride in it and that thing is solid with decent interior finishing.

Also there will be a Mitsu truck that is priced below the Montero sport that has IDENTICAL quad lights like our GS....
My favorite knock-off is the Altima. I think it's a good car but after my father ripped it for being a wanna-be GS, I no longer like it. Honestly, that gauge pod in the Altima is so similar it makes me wanna puke.
