Here is a picture of my 3 piece manarays. They are beginning to show signs of wear such as the clear coming off in spots along with some minor curb rash. I understand that because they are a machined finished wheel that refinishing them is not easy. Does anyone have any experience with refinishing machined finished wheels? Appearance wise, should I chrome the outer lip?
Also, who know the anatomy of a 3 piece wheel? Can I remove the perimeter bolts with the tires still on? I'm thinking of either replacing the bolts with chrome one or having the current one's chromed. The current one's looked as if they were gold plated and needless to say the gold is coming off.

Take them to a wheels re-finisher. I think its like 50-65 bucks per wheel. I have seen people do this themselves but it requires a lot of upkeep.
If you want to do it yourself you need:
- to get a paint stripper to remove the clear coat
- sand the alloy with 1000 grit wet sand paper, then 2000 grit sand paint
- buff the metal finish with a metal polish
In order to keep the shine you have to polish every couple weeks
As far as demounting the tires, I suggest you do it to be on the safe side.
